Al Bayad Farms Co. invests in four HatchTravellers

November 10, 2016

Al Bayad Farms Co. recently invested in four HatchTravellers to carry out chick transport from their new broiler hatchery in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Given the long transport distances and extreme weather conditions in Saudi Arabia, Al Bayad sees the HatchTraveller as the ideal solution to guarantee optimum transport conditions for its day-old chicks.

Each of the four trucks has a capacity of 86,400 day-old chicks. Unlike traditional transport systems, the HatchTraveller functions completely independently of outside climate conditions. As a result, the conditions in the truck will always be completely stable and 100% controlled.

Al Bayad’s new hatchery is currently under construction and will be equipped with MicroClimer Setters and Hatchers, as well as support systems for cooling, heating and ventilation. In addition, the hatchery will include a HatchTech Chick Storage Room to ensure optimal body temperatures and to prevent dehydration during storage. The HatchTravellers will ensure that none of the progress achieved in the hatchery will be lost during transport. When operational, the hatchery will have an annual capacity of 52 million hatching eggs.

“It was a logical decision to select HatchTech as our partner for this project,” says Dr. Ahmad Al Thonayan, President of Al Bayad Farms. “At Al Bayad Farms, we strive to produce superior-quality day-old chicks in order to achieve maximum genetic potential in the field. We’re convinced that HatchTech’s unique technology, in combination with their extensive knowledge gained from research, provides the best solution to help us achieve our goals of excellence.”
