At EuroTier 2024 in Hannover, HatchTech received the DLG Innovation Award in the gold category for the MicroClimer Setter’s climate precision system. The award recognises agricultural innovations that deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, animal welfare, or sustainability.
What the judges said
The DLG evaluation panel cited the combination of sub-0.3 °C temperature uniformity and a 40 % reduction in energy consumption as “a step change rather than an incremental improvement.” No competing setter system in the 2024 cohort achieved both outcomes simultaneously.

A decade of laminar airflow research
The award-winning climate system is the result of more than ten years of collaboration between HatchTech’s R&D team in Veenendaal and poultry science researchers at Wageningen University. The core insight — that laminar, parallel airflow eliminates the micro-climates found in turbulent-flow setters — was first published in 2013 and has since been validated across more than 80 commercial hatchery installations.
Field data from those installations shows hatch rate improvements averaging 1.8 percentage points compared to the previous generation of setters, with some high-density broiler operations reporting gains above 3 points.
