After expanding its hatchery with HatchCare technology last year, Norsk Kylling AS is now continuing its partnership with HatchTech through the addition of six SetCare machines. The investment further supports the company’s focus on innovation, animal welfare, and efficient production throughout the entire chain.
As one of the leading poultry producers in Norway, Norsk Kylling continuously looks for innovative solutions that contribute to both improved animal welfare and sustainable, efficient production. The decision to invest in SetCare technology was therefore a logical next step. The improved chick quality, better feed conversion ratio (FCR), and enhanced growth performance delivered by SetCare played an important role in the decision-making process.
By gradually warming eggs during the earliest and most critical stage of embryo development, SetCare extends the incubation process from 21 to 24 days. This approach supports improved embryo development and hatch uniformity, resulting in up to 3.3% more first-grade chicks and helping hatcheries achieve the same production output with fewer hatching eggs, fully aligning with Norsk Kylling’s philosophy of responsible and efficient food production.
Norsk Kylling is recognized as a pioneering force within the Norwegian poultry industry. The company was at the forefront of introducing slower-growing broiler breeds to Norway—an approach that has since reshaped the entire market and become the industry standard. Norsk Kylling is also the first large-scale poultry producer in the world to operate in line with the European Chicken Commitment (ECC), further reinforcing its role as an industry leader. As part of retailer REMA 1000, Norsk Kylling continues to lead the way in setting high standards for quality, innovation, and animal welfare.
We are proud to continue our collaboration with Norsk Kylling and would like to thank the team for their trust and partnership. Together, we continue to work towards further improving hatchery performance and supporting a more sustainable poultry industry.
