Reducing hatchery building costs starts with smarter equipment design. HatchTech’s integrated solutions are engineered to maximize capacity per square meter and per square foot across the entire hatchery, minimizing total building investment without compromising chick quality. 

As a result, HatchTech designs can require up to 30% less floor space compared to conventional hatchery layouts. For a 2.8 million egg set capacity hatchery, this can translate into potential building cost savings of up to $7 million. 

These savings are not driven by a single component, but by a fully integrated design philosophy that optimizes every stage of the hatchery process.

Setter - 8.360 eggs per trolley

The foundation of this design begins in the setter. HatchTech’s optimized 19-layer trolley configuration accommodates up to 8,360 eggs per trolley, increasing capacity within the same footprint. This makes it the only trolley configuration in the industry capable of reaching this level of capacity.

This results in approximately:
• 7,068 eggs per m²
• 657 eggs per ft² 

Hatchers - 8,448 eggs

In the hatcher area, efficiency is achieved through an optimized trolley, dolley and basket configuration. Each dolley accommodates up to 8,448 eggs, maximizing output per machine without increasing floor space. 

With approximately:
• 6,233 eggs per m²
• 579 eggs per ft² 

CyClean™ 

CyClean™
The space-efficient hatcher design is further enhanced through the integration of CyClean™.
By capturing up to 95% of fluff directly at the hatcher exhaust, CyClean™ eliminates the need for a traditional fluff room (plenum). As a result, hatcheries can reduce floor space in the hatcher area by up to 20%. 

 

Chick Storage Room

The same design philosophy continues in the Chick Storage Room. By placing chick baskets side by side, storage capacity is increased within a compact footprint. 

Controlled airflow through each basket ensures uniform temperature and optimal conditions for chick development, while requiring significantly less floor space compared to traditional storage rooms. 

Conclusion

Together, these design choices can reduce the required hatchery floor space by up to 30%, significantly lowering the initial building investment and reducing overall CAPEX requirements. 

At the same time, a more compact layout simplifies daily operations. With fewer machines, shorter transport routes and less equipment to clean and maintain, hatcheries benefit from a more efficient workflow and lower OPEX, while maintaining superior chick quality.
