Superior incubation conditions fundamental to antibiotic-free production
HatchTech generated a lot of interest at the Poultry Summit Europe on Tuesday 17 May. At the Summit, HatchTech joined a team of industry specialists to inform attendees about the requirements for antibiotic-free poultry production.
With his extensive knowledge from the field, HatchTech’s Hatchery Coaching Manager Willem van den Oetelaar explained why superior incubation conditions are fundamental in antibiotic-free production. Related presentations were given by Cobb, Provimi and Viscon Hatchery Automation.
“Incubation is a crucial stage in chick development. By offering optimum and uniform incubation conditions and by providing day-old chicks with ad-lib access to feed and water immediately post hatch, we lay the foundations of antibiotic-free production,” says Willem van den Oetelaar. “Our MicroClimer Setters and HatchCare Hatchers give day-old chicks the best possible start in life. Antibiotic-free poultry production will result in higher profits; the hatchery is a profit centre.”
The Poultry Summit Europe is currently taking place in Utrecht, the Netherlands, from 16 to 18 May. The Summit addresses six key challenges the poultry industry is currently facing, offering themed insights from customer/consumer, scientific and industrial perspectives.
